Hey there, I'm Lindsey.

I find it pretty difficult to write about myself, but here is a little peek into the person behind garrison photo co.

The accompanying photo is my little family, Wilson (the hubs), Olan Wayne (first born), Alton Marshall (wild middle child), Elan Monroe (the baby), Emma D'Leigh (the niece), and Chase Daniel (the nephew).

We live on a small farm in Northeast Oklahoma. Our families say that we are the hippie/feral children. These are descriptions I've come to love. We are homesteading, homeschoolers who feel strongly rooted here. But we also have a tendency to let ourselves blow in the wind.

Where did my deep love of photographs and photography come from and how does it fit into our lives? I think the answer is more complex than I realize. I was always fascinated with the old boxes of photos at my grandparents and parents houses. I would rummage through them for hours, day dreaming about the images in front of me. It wasn't until I was older though, that I understood the look on a person's face as they were staring at a photograph of someone no longer with us. The look that says gratitude, sorrow, bliss and nostalgia all at the same time. I want people to feel those things when they look at the photos I've taken of the people they love. I want my photographs to make emotions and memories come surging forward when they see them. I want that blip of time to feel real again when they see it, even if it's just for a second.

I hope you're inspired and will come on this journey with me.

xoxo
